Riverside cross country standout gives Seton Hill its first PSAC champ

Sydney Wolf made history at the PSAC cross country championsh­ips last Friday at Kutztown University. Wolf became the first women’s runner in Seton Hill history to win the PSAC title. She finished the 6K course in 22 minutes, 23.8 seconds. Wolf, a senior, is a graduate of Riverside High School in the WPIAL, who has done well in cross country and track at Seton Hill. As a junior, she set a school track record in the 800 meters and also won a PSAC title in the event.

Top receiver for No. 5-ranked Cal a former standout at Penn Hills

The California (Pa.) football team is ranked No. 5 in the country in NCAA Division II and Cam Tarrant played a big role in the Vulcans knocking off No. 23 IUP, 38-34, last Saturday. Tarrant, a former standout receiver at Penn Hills, had 11 receptions for 97 yards and scored two touchdowns. It was the second consecutiv­e week he caught 11 passes. For the season, Tarrant is now the team’s secondlead­ing receiver with 41 receptions for 345 yards and four touchdowns.

One of top passers in WPIAL history now doing big things at Saint Vincent

Brady Walker finished his career at Gateway High School as the second-leading passer in WPIAL history with 8,816 yards. He is now starting to do some big things for Saint Vincent College. Walker, a junior, threw for a career-high 371 yards in a victory against Waynesburg last Saturday. Saint Vincent is 4-3 for the season and Walker has now completed 129 of 217 passes for 1,879 yards and 16 TDs. He spent a year at West Virginia Wesleyan before transferri­ng to Saint Vincent.
