Awards and Honors
John R. “Jack” McGinley
Jr. received the distinguished Thomas Addis Emmet Award in recognition of his legal career, philanthropic efforts and dedication to his Irish heritage. The Irish Legal 100, a national organization of distinguished legal professionals, presented the award to Mr. McGinley at the residence of the Irish Ambassador to the United States. He serves as chairman of Duquesne University’s board of directors. A 1968 School of Law graduate, he has been instrumental in funding scholarships, a nursing school symposium series on health care justice for vulnerable populations, a public service fellowship, and building improvements in the law school. He is leading the drive to establish a College of Osteopathic Medicine, which is scheduled to launch at Duquesne in fall 2024.
