Boxing and fitness concept setting up in Strip District
A developer is adding some punch to its lineup at the rehabbed produce terminal in the Strip District.
Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, developed by professional boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, will open this summer in a 2,500-squarefoot space at the western end of the Strip landmark on Smallman Street.
The group boxing and fitness concept features methods developed during Mr. Mayweather’s undefeated 21-year career. The fitness studio will offer 45- to 60minute classes that include boxing, weightlifting, and body-weight exercises.
Rosalindo “Rosie” Morales, a professional boxer and five-time Western Pennsylvania Golden Gloves champion, will lead classes. His wife, Hanna Morales, a former competitive dancer and gymnast, will handle studio operations.
Pittsburgh-based Satellite Investments will hold the produce terminal franchise.
Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, with more than 57 locations open or under development nationwide, is the latest tenant to be signed by Chicago-based McCaffery Interests to locate in the 1,533-foot-long terminal, a onetime hub for fruit and vegetable wholesalers.
It joins another recently signed fitness-related business, Irvine, Calif.-based StretchLab, with programs designed to increase flexibility, range of motion and energy. It is taking 1,619 square feet of space in the building and is scheduled to open this spring.
Other produce terminal tenants include a Fine Wine & Good Spirits store, City Grow, OnPar Now, Envy Nail Spa, Pip & Lola’s Soaps & Sundries, Walk Run Lift Studio, Aslin Beer Company, PrimoHoagies, Posman Books, and Puttshack.
