Pittsburgh Community Broadcasti­ng Corp., the nonprofit parent organizati­on of 90.5WESA, Pittsburgh’s NPR news station, and 91.3 WYEP, the Adult Album Alternativ­e musicstati­on, said Courtnae Turko was promoted to senior vice president.

Community Options launched a project to sponsor 22 AmeriCorps VISTA service members to empower people with disabiliti­es by expanding housing and employment opportunit­ies across the country. In Pittsburgh, Katrina Goodlin will be the first member hired to expand employment opportunit­ies for people with disabiliti­es.

The Carnegie Hero Fund Commission elected new members. They are: Alex DiClaudio, founding partner and managing director, Bedford Management Partners;

Kevin Hiles, executive vice president and chief operations officer, Carnegie Pittsburgh; Andrea Ross, career health care profession­al specializi­ng in pediatric-adolescent mental health, affiliate; and Lee Tilghman, managing director, The Dietrich Foundation.

Business notes

Security Systems of America, better known as SSA, announced national certificat­ion as a Women’ s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise Center East, a regional certifying partner of the Women’ s Business Enterprise National Council.For the last 50 years, SSA has protected homes and businesses throughout the tri-state area with burglar, fire, CCTV, and access control systems.

Awards and Honors

American Advertisin­g Federation Pittsburgh inducted three industry leaders and one corporatio­n into the Pittsburgh Advertisin­g Hall of Fame. They are: Michael Brunner, Deb Docherty, Edgar Snyder, and UPMC. Mr. Brunner recently retired from a 41-year career primarily as the CEO and founder of ad agency Brunner. Ms. Docherty founded the Docherty Agency in 1987. Mr. Snyder is the founder of law firm Edgar Snyder & Associates.
