Candidates for Pa. House District 30

-

Ambulance Authority. My colleagues and I had advocated for years for preparedness and not running our health care, public safety, and public education systems at the ragged edge with no resilience or excess capacity. Unfortunately, few if any in power listened, and when COVID hit, we saw the price we continue to pay to this day for such poor decision making. As the only physician in the General Assembly and with the issues we face — to make health care more affordable and accessible, bolster our public health, public safety, and public education systems, protect reproductive rights, rejuvenate our economy, curb gun violence, and defend our democracy — of particular relation to that expertise, I believe that I will be a uniquely effective representative for this community.

3. Q: Why should voters pay attention to this race?

Kirk: Voters should pay attention to all political races because it matters. I have knocked on thousands of doors and the one thing that stands out, people are worried. Politics has failed us, and the only way to fix that is to get involved and vote for candidates that care more about their neighbors than politics and special interests. I will fight for us, as I always have. The problems we face are huge, from inflation and a stifling economy to education and healthcare, solving them is not a part-time endeavor. It will require a full-time focus and the kind of hard work that I have done my whole life.

Venkat: The vast majority of voters do not know who their state legislators are while the vast majority of governing that affects our lives is done at the state level. How we will move forward to improve our economy, make health care more affordable and accessible, preserve personal liberties, defend our democracy, and reduce gun violence are all on the ballot this election for the state representative from 30th District.
