Arrest made in West Mifflin killing; warrant in McKeesport incident issued

Allegheny County police have made an arrest in a West Mifflin stabbing death and issued a warrant for a suspect in a McKeesport shooting that critically injured a man.

Police said Thursday that 19-year-old Robert Anger, of Homestead, has been charged with killing Marcel Thompson, 65, on Tuesday outside of an apartment building on Midway Drive in West Mifflin. The victim was found with stab wounds and died at the scene.

Anger is charged with homicide, tampering with evidence and burglary. Police said Thursday he was taken into custody in West Mifflin.

Detectives are seeking Quenton Hughes, 40, of Penn Hills, in the shooting and wounding of a man on Beacon Street in McKeesport on Nov. 7. The 45-year-old unnamed victim was initially in critical condition but police said his condition has been upgraded to stable.

Hughes has been charged with aggravated assault, attempted homicide and firearms violations. He has ties to the Penn Hills and McKeesport areas.

Police also announced they have made an arrest in a shooting Tuesday in Swissvale. Lawrence Brock, 34, of Swissvale, turned himself in to borough police after a warrant was issued charging him with shooting an unnamed 47-year-old woman in the 2000 block of Noble Street. The victim was shot in an arm and taken to a hospital in stable condition.
