Two dead in house fire in East Huntingdon

Two people died Friday night in a fire in East Huntingdon, according to the Westmoreland County coroner’s office.

Awoman and a man died in the fire, which was reported at 168 Espey Road about8:30 p.m., according to a report from the coroner’s office. Names of the victims had not been released.

Westmoreland County Coroner Timothy Carson’s report said witnesses contacted 911 to report the fire; when firefighters arrived, thehome was engulfed.

The victims, who had extensive burns, were pronounced dead at the scene. Autopsies are scheduled Sunday.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal is investigating.
