Leona Maguire, seven shots out of the lead to start the third round, shot a 9-under 63 to catch Lydia Ko atop the leader board in the seaon-ending LPGA CME Group Tour Championsh­ip in Naples, Fla., and set up a duel Sunday for the $2 million top prize — the richest in women’s golf. They are both at 15-under 201. No one else is within five shots of them. • Jon Rahm holds a oneshot lead going into the final round of the World Tour Championsh­ip in Dubai, Arab Emirates. But the larger story is that Matt Fitzpatric­k is only one shot out of the lead as he battles Rory McIlroy for the European player of the year title. McIlroy, who leads the standings, is three shots out. • Patrick Rodgers ran off four consecutiv­e birdies and finished with a 6-under 64 and a share of the thirdround lead with Ben Martin in the RSM Classic in St. Simon’s Island, Ga.

Formula One champion Max Verstappen qualified on the pole for Sunday’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He will be seeing a 15th win of the season.
