☛ WPIAL Class 4A

-

1. Lincoln Park (18-8) — It’s tough to choose between Lincoln Park and Laurel Highlands for No. 1. Lincoln Park got the nod. The Leopards have an excellent guard tandem with junior Brandin Cummings (20.4) and sophomore Meleek Thomas, who is ranked the No. 13 sophomore in the county by Rivals.

2. Laurel Highlands (27-1) — The Mustangs won two of the past three WPIAL Class 5A titles, but dropped down to 4A. Senior Rodney Gallagher (18.6) is back for his final season after making the PG Fab 5 the past three years. Keondre DeShields (20.7 ppg) also is back. Brandon Davis would have been a senior guard, but transferred to a prep school.

3. Highlands (19-8) — The Rams return most of their starters from a year ago, led by senior guard Jimmy Kunst (21.4 ppg).

4. Hampton (13-12) — The Talbots return most of their top players and were enhanced by the addition of Peter Kramer, a 6-3 guard who averaged 15 points for Shady Side Academy last season before transferring to Hampton.

5. North Catholic (18-4) — The Trojans could challenge Lincoln Park for the Section 2 title. Junior guard Max Hurray (17 ppg) and senior guard Max Rottmann (12 ppg) are the top returnees.
