The Illinois women’s basketball team shooting from beyond the arc buried Pitt.
The Illini (7-1) made 14 3pointers as they defeated the Panthers, 92-71, Wednesday at the Petersen Events Center as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
The Panthers (5-3) fell behind 18- 13 after the first quarter, and could never recover.
Dayshanette Harris led the Panthers with 16 points.

All facets of the game ran smoothly for host West Virginia (5-1) in its nonconference win against North Carolina Central (2-6). The Mountaineers finished with 13 steals, six blocks and shot better than 50% from the field, including making 10 3s.
Virginia 89, Penn State 68:
Virginia (9-0) jumped out 22-7 lead after the first quarter and defeated Penn State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in University Park. Makenna Marisa (Peters Township) had 16 points to lead the Nittany Lions (7-1).

Ohio State 96, Louisville 77: Taylor Mikesell scored a season-high 26 points to help lead No. 4 Ohio State to a victory against host No. 18 Louisville in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Buckeyes (70) used a 14-0 fourth-quarter run to seal the win. Hailey Van Lith led Louisville (5-3) with 20 points.

Duke 81, Ohio State 72: Freshman Kyle Filipowski had 16 points, including a key three-point play with 2:37 left, to help host No. 17 Duke (62) beat No. 25 Ohio State (52) in the final ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Purdue 79, Florida State 69: Zach Edey scored 25 points as visiting No. 5 Purdue (7-0) fought off Florida State (1-8) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Tennessee 76, McNeese 40: Santiago Vescovi scored 16 points to lead host No. 13 Tennessee to a victory against McNeese. The Volunteers (6-1) won their fifth consecutive game.
The Cowboys (2-6) were led by Christian Shumate and Trae English with eight each.
Iowa State 63, North Dakota 44: Caleb Grill scored 16 points as host No. 23 Iowa State (6-1) shook off a sluggish first half and defeated North Dakota in a nonconference game. Matt Norman led the Fighting Hawks (5-4) with nine points.
