Keystone Oaks knocks off previously unbeaten Washington

Keystone Oaks (5-4, 3-2) delivered Friday night’s biggest upset with a 21-14 triumph against previously undefeated and No. 1-ranked Washington (8-1, 4-1). The top- ranked Little Prexies scored twice in the third quarter to forge ahead 14-7, but could not hold off the Golden Eagles.

DiMajio Locante rushed for two touchdowns for Keystone Oaks while Billy Bricker ran for another, but it was Locante’s two-yard plunge in the fourth quarter that ultimately ended Washington’s undefeated season.

Washington, which averaged more than 50 points per game over its first four Century Conference contests, was held to just 94 rushing yards and 14 points.

Keystone Oaks turned the Little Prexies over three times, continuing an impressive defensive season that has seen the Golden Eagles surrender just 11.8 points per game.

Washington will head on the road to take on McGuffey next week in a game that will determine the Century Conference title.

Serra Catholic 46, ApolloRidg­e 28: Serra Catholic (4-4, 4-1) clinched a playoff berth with a win against ApolloRidg­e (2-7, 1-5). After ApolloRidg­e forged ahead 14-12 in the second quarter, Serra scored three consecutiv­e touchdowns to pull away for what became a comfortabl­e Eagles’ victory. Imani Christian 31, Ligonier Valley 0: No. 4-ranked Imani Christian (6-2, 4-1) enjoyed offensive contributi­ons from a litany of players in its shutout win against Ligonier Valley (2-7, 1-5). Steve Vandiver and Dayshaun Burnett each completed touchdown passes to Chevon Allen and each ran for scores as well. Gabe Jenkins opened the scoring for Imani with a rushing touchdown of his own in the first quarter. Ligonier Valley managed just 51 total yards of offense. Brentwood 44, Charleroi 15: Brentwood ( 2- 7, 2- 3) picked up its second Century Conference victory with its triumph against Charleroi (0-8, 0- 5). Quarterbac­k Cedric Davis passed for four touchdowns and ran for another as the Spartans ripped off 44 consecutiv­e points after falling behind 7-0. Derry 29, Burrell 22: Derry (4-5, 3-3) spoiled an opportunit­y to clinch a playoff berth for Burrell (4-5, 3-3) with a seven-point win on the road.

Neshannock 42, Ellwood City 14: No. 2-ranked Neshannock (7-1, 6-0) stayed undefeated in Midwestern Conference play with a 42-14 win against Ellwood City (4-5, 24). Neshannock put the game away with a 21-0 run through the second and third quarters, blowing open a game that was scoreless at the end of the first quarter. Patrick Argiro finished the night with three rushing touchdowns to lead the Lancers. Beaver Falls 36, Freedom

0: Beaver Falls (5-4, 4-2) cruised to a shutout win against Freedom (2-7, 1-5). Da’Talian Beauford, who plays both running back and linebacker for Beaver Falls, finished the night with three rushing touchdowns and 176 yards on the ground. Riverside 23, New Brighton 14: Riverside (1-7, 1-5) picked up its first win of the season on the road against New Brighton (0-9, 0-6). Robbie Janis led the way with 127 yards rushing and a touchdown for Riverside, while Ayden Garcia passed for 161 yards and a touchdown. McGuffey 6, South Park 0:

McGuffey (7-2, 5-0) picked up a low-scoring, nonconfere­nce win against Class 3A South Park (6-3, 3-2) in the Highlander­s’ final test before next week’s showdown versus Washington. In a game that saw just eight combined first downs, McGuffey’s Dylan Stewart accounted for all of the Highlander­s’ points with a pair of field goals in the second quarter.

Fort Cherry 42, Carlynton

0: No. 1-ranked Fort Cherry (90, 6-0) continued its dominance of the Black Hills Conference with a shutout win on the road against Carlynton (27, 1-5). The Rangers rushed for 238 yards on the night and dominated the game defensivel­y, sacking Carlynton quarterbac­k Devonte Dean eight times. Fort Cherry quarterbac­k Matt Sieg is now just seven passing yards shy of 1,000 on the season. Bishop Canevin 41, Our Lady of Sacred Heart 7: Kole Olszewski tossed four touchdown passes to lead No. 3ranked Bishop Canevin (7-1, 5-1) to a blowout win over Our Lady of Sacred Heart (4-5, 33). Olszewski finished the night with 315 yards passing. Greensburg Central Catholic 21, Riverview 14: Greensburg Central Catholic (6-3, 41) clinched a playoff berth with a 7- point win over Riverview (4-5, 1-4). Landon Honick ran for touchdowns of 56 and 78 yards while Samir Crosby added a 55- yard touchdown scamper to pace the Centurions’ big-play offense. Carlo Buzzatto, the WPIAL’s leading rusher, finished the night with 140 yards and a touchdown for Riverview. Leechburg 27, Shenango

26: Leechburg (6-3, 3-2) overcame a 26-7 second-half deficit with three unanswered touchdowns to topple Shenango (4-5, 2-3) in a nonconfere­nce bout. Jayden Floyd carried the football 23 times for 134 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Blue Devils, but it was Sebastian Mason’s touchdown pass and catch in the fourth quarter that sealed Shenango’s fate. Monessen 36, Mapletown 20: Monessen (3-6, 2-4) took control early and held on late for a win against Mapletown (3-6, 2-4). Dennis Hawkins completed four of his five touchdown passes in the first half as the Greyhounds built a 30-0 lead before cruising to the finish line. Tyvaughn Kershaw and Lorenzo Gardner each caught two touchdowns while Kayden Kolbeck added another. Bentworth 20

Carmichael­s 12: Bentworth (3-6, 2-4) picked up a road win against Carmichael­s (3-6, 2-4). Cornell 39, Chartiers-Houston 0: Cornell ( 7- 2, 4- 2) earned a shutout win on the road against Chartiers-Houston (0-9, 0-6). Cornell outgained Chartiers- Houston, 246-50, and allowed just 1.2 yards per play. Burgettsto­wn 28, Avella 6:

Burgettsto­wn (5-3, 4-2) comfortabl­y defeated Avella (3-6, 1-5) behind 14 points in each half. Brodie Kuzior ran for one score and threw for another before halftime, and the Blue Devils’ extended their lead with two Rudy Brown rushing touchdowns in the second half. Broden Hamm’s longest run of the night, a 14-yard scamper in the third quarter, accounted for Avella’s only points.

California 62, Beth-Center 6: California (8-1, 6-0) remained undefeated in TriCounty South Conference play with a blowout win against Beth-Center (3-6, 3-3). The Trojans scored at least two touchdowns in every quarter without completing a pass, totaling 432 rushing yards on the night.

West Greene 31, JeffersonM­organ 16: West Greene (72, 5-1) ran wild in a home win against Jefferson-Morgan (63, 4-2). Billy Whitlach ran the ball 27 times for 255 yards and 20, three touchdowns for West Greene, as the Pioneers attempted just four passes all night.

Laurel 30, Summit 6: Laurel (3-6, 2-3) picked up a comfortabl­e win against Summit (0-9, 0-5) in a game that was called off just before halftime due to a fight. Ben Hennon rushed for two touchdowns for the victorious Spartans while Luca Santini completed touchdown passes to both Kolton Carlson and Tyler Shearer.
