Maiello Brungo and Maiello, LLP announced the appointmen­t of Jennifer L. Cerce to partner. Ms. Cerce has been a key member of its real estate, tax assessment and business law teams. Rebeca Himena Miller joined Leech Tishman as an associate in its intellectu­al property practice group and life sciences industry group. Ms. Miller will focus her practice on all aspects of intellectu­al property law including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.

Tucker Arensberg, P.C. announced the expansion of its employee benefits and

ERISA practice by hiring two shareholde­r attorneys, Teresa Pofok and Andrew Crampton. Both attorneys specialize in employee benefits law, with a focus on multiemplo­yer benefit plans and employee health and welfare, retirement and apprentice­ship/training issues.

The Pittsburgh Black Media Federation announced its newly elected board. They are: president: Deborah

Todd; parliament­arian: Anthony Todd Carlisle; treasurer: Ervin Dyer, and secretary: Donovan Harrell. The new officers’ term began Oct. 13 and will end Dec. 31, 2025. Ms. Todd is an associate opinion editor for The Hill, a newspaper and digital media company based in Washington, D.C. Mr. Carlisle is an associate professor of English and journalism at Pennsylvan­ia Western University. Mr. Dyer is a senior editor with

Pitt Magazine at the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Harrell is a communicat­ions specialist with the University of Pittsburgh.

Janna Cesario was promoted to community services supervisor at Adelphoi.

Awards and Honors

Lindsay A. Nemit, an associate at Pollock Begg, earned certificat­ion for mediation. Mediation is an alternativ­e dispute resolution option where the parties jointly hire a mediator to assist them in working out a mutually satisfacto­ry divorce agreement. Ms. Nemit completed 40 hours of training through The Conflict Lab and Behrend Mediation Services to earn the certificat­ion. Dateline Pittsburgh appears on Sundays.
