Duquesne comeback helps seal 69-67 win

Trailing by nine points in the second half, the Duquesne men’s team roared back at Monday night at Coach Dru Joyce Court at LeBron James Arena in Akron, Ohio, to earn a 69-67 victory against Bradley.

The Braves (6-5) led from the early minutes until Duquesne edged ahead 6462 on Andrei Savrasov’s basket with 4:15 left.

Jimmy Clark III led the Dukes (8-2) with 21 points but with the game tied in the final minute he committed a turnover that set up Bradley for a winning shot. But Clark redeemed himself with a critical steal with three seconds to go and he fed David Dixon for a game-winning layup.

District women West Virginia 77, Wright State 72:

JJ Quinerly scored 30 points to lead the Mountainee­rs (10-0) against the visiting Raiders, who were led by Alexis Hutchinson’s 37 points, including six 3-pointers.

Robert Morris 66, Fairmont State 55:

Danielle Vuletich had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Colonials (5-6) to their fourth victory in five home games.

Top 25 women

UCLA 77, Ohio State 71: The second- ranked Bruins ( 10- 0) withstood a frantic fourth-quarter rally by the No. 13 Buckeyes. Trailing by 20 early in the final period, Ohio State (9-2) got within four in the last minute but couldn’t get the win. Jacy Sheldon scored 30 points for the Buckeyes.

Kansas State 102, Oral Roberts 59: Ayoka Lee scored 24 points and the 12thranked Wildcats ( 11- 1) coasted.

Indiana 109, Evansville 56:

Yarden Garzon’s 30 points led the 16th-ranked Hoosiers (9-1).

Connecticu­t 88, Butler 62:

Freshman Ashlynn Shade scored a season- high 22 points for the 17th-ranked Huskies (8-3, 1-1 Big East) in their conference opener.
