Bulls surprise 76ers

Lowly Chicago prevails despite Embiid’s showing

Coby White’s near tripledoub­le spurred the Chicago Bulls (11-17) to a stunning road 108-104 victory Monday night to end a six-game winning streak by the Philadelph­ia 76ers (18-8).

White finished with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists, although his stats line didn’t match up with 76ers star Joel Embiid, who scored 40 and grabbed 14 rebounds

Down by 12 to start the fourth quarter, Philadelph­ia mounted a rally and got within a point with 5:49 left, but the Bulls responded with a 7-0 run to regain control.

Cleveland got five points from Sam Merrill in overtime, including a key 3pointer with 1:37 left, to defeat Houston.

Clippers 151, Pacers 127: James Harden scored 35 points to lead six Los Angeles players in double figures as the Clippers scored 77 in the first half and Indiana couldn’t recover.

Hawks 130, Pistons 124:

Detroit came close to ending its 23-game losing streak with 40-point fourth quarter but couldn’t overcome Trae Young’s 31 points and 15 assists for Atlanta. Cade Cunningham scored 43 for the Pistons.

Timberwolv­es 112, Heat 108: Northwest leader Minnesota edged Miami behind Anthony Edwards’ 32 points and Rudy Gobert’s 16 rebounds. Tyler Herro scored 25 to lead Miami.

Raptors 114, Hornets 99:

Pascal Siakam had 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to carry Toronto past Charlotte.

Thunder 116, Grizzlies 97: Shai Gilgeous- Alexander scored 30 points for Oklahoma City, which built a 15point halftime lead against Memphis.

Notes

Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will be in recovery for three months, according to Deborah Morales, his business partner.

Abdul-Jabbar, 76, had surgery for a broken hip after falling at a concert in Los Angeles.

• Edwards responded to a woman’s claim that she was pregnant with Edwards’ child and released private messages between the two on social media with Edwards pressuring her to have an abortion. “I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me,” Edwards said.
