Associations & Organizations
Gov. Josh Shapiro announced members of the advisory council for Inclusive Procurement (PACIP), which was created by an executive order in September, to create new opportunities for small and diverse businesses. Lt. Gov. Austin
Davis will lead efforts for PACIP as this core group advises commonwealth agencies around increasing the number of resources that go into the hands of small businesses. Joyce Bender, founder and CEO of Bender Consulting Services, will serve on the 17-member council.
Law
Babst Calland named Gina Falaschi Buchman, Timothy S. Bytner and Carla M. Castello shareholders. Ms. Buchman focuses her practice on environmental regulatory matters arising under the Clean Air Act. Mr. Bytner focuses his practice primarily on federal and state environmental regulation and litigation. Ms. Castello has a broad range of litigation experience in several practice areas, including commercial, labor and employment, consumer protection, antitrust, energy and toxic tort.
Awards
Teresa B. Cyrus of Oakdale was awarded the Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) award, becoming the first woman and African American in Pennsylvania to receive this title. In 2021, she founded TRACCreations4e, which specializes in providing comprehensive training on Microsoft 365 Cloud Solutions. Her expertise includes popular applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams.
