— Philadelph­ia’s Wilt Chamberlai­n hit the first of what would become an NBA record 35 consecutiv­e field goals without a miss.

— The NBA’s 3,000,000th point occurred in Indiana-Washington, Buffalo-Kansas City, Detroit-New York, New Jersey-Cleveland, or Philadelph­ia-San Antonio game.

— Jerry Sloan became the first Chicago Bulls player to have his uniform (#4) retired.

— San Antonio’s David Robinson recorded the fourth quadruple-double in NBA history with 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 blocks in the Spurs’ 115-96 win over visiting Detroit. The three other quadruple-doubles in NBA history were compiled by Hakeem Olajuwon (3/29/90), Alvin Robertson (2/18/86) and Nate Thurmond (10/18/74).

— In a pre-game ceremony at the Palace of Auburn Hills, the Detroit Pistons retired the No. 11 jersey of Isiah Thomas, who appeared in 979 regular-season and 111 playoff games with the team in 13 seasons. Thomas, a 12-time all-star, helped lead the Pistons to back-to-back NBA Championsh­ips in 1989 and 1990, being named the NBA Finals MVP in ’90 when Detroit defeated Portland in five games.

— Minnesota’s Stephon Marbury becomes the fifth player in NBA history to register at least 40 points and 10 assists with no turnovers in a game when he had 40 points, 12 assists and zero turnovers in the Timberwolv­es’ 116-102 defeat of Houston at the Target Center.

— The East defeated the West 134-128 in the 57th NBA All-Star Game before 16, 271 fans in New Orleans.

— The West defeated the East 143-138 in the 62nd NBA All-Star Game before 16,101 fans in Houston.
