Doncic leads Dallas with a triple-double

Mavericks allow season-low in points

-

Luka Doncic had 27 points, recording another triple-double but doing so without scoring 30 for the first time in seven games, and the Dallas Mavericks rolled over the host Chicago Bulls, 12792, on Monday night.

Doncic finished with 14 assists and 12 rebounds, but exited the blowout midway through the fourth quarter to end his NBA-record streak of 30-point triple-doubles at six. Dallas’ Daniel Gafford made history by going 9 for 9, extending his run of consecutive made shots to 28. That’s the longest since the NBA began tracking play-by-play data in 1996-97, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. He finished with 20 points.

Doncic set the tone as Dallas outscored Chicago by 28 in the first quarter. The Mavericks gave up a season low in points while handing the Bulls their most lopsided loss.

Kevin Durant scored 37 points and Devin Booker had 27 in his return from a right ankle sprain, rallying visiting Phoenix to a victory against Cleveland.

Warriors 112, Spurs 102:

Notes

The Los Angeles Lakers say they’re planning to fix a handful of errors on the base of the statue of Kobe Bryant unveiled last month outside their arena.

The names of former NBA players Jose Calderon and Von Wafer are misspelled on the base in a rendering of the box score from Bryant’s 81point game in January 2006, along with a misspelling of the phrase “Coach’s Decision.” There are also minor formatting mistakes in another spot on the busy base of the statue, which displays many of Bryant’s accomplishments.

• Atlanta Hawks forward Saddiq Bey will miss the rest of the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee, another major blow to the injuryplagued team.

• Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun escaped major injury after being carted off Sunday after being diagnosed with a severely sprained right ankle and bone bruise on his right knee.
