Trout stocking is underway throughout the region

The Fish & Boat Commission continues to stock brown, brook and rainbow trout in local waterways.

The list below includes waters that are open to limited fishing on the day stocked and a few that are popular among trout stocking volunteers.

Lake Erie tributarie­s (Erie County) Dredging of the channel is underway at the mouth of Walnut Creek.

A few steelhead were taken on lower Elk Creek, and a 16-inch brown trout took an egg sac.

Waters were high and stained from snow melt.

Crappies were caught on live minnows off the North Pier. Cloudy with a chance of rain through the weekend.

Conneaut Creek (Erie County) High, cloudy water, but on Wednesday steelhead took single eggs upstream from Albion.

Pymatuning Reservoir (Crawford County) Walleye took crawler harnesses north of the causeway.

Lake Wilhelm (Mercer County) John Sullivan of Monroevill­e boated a 16-inch largemouth bass Wednesday.

Shenango River Lake (Mercer County) Crappies and perch were taken on live minnows off the north shore near the Route 18 bridge.

Lake Arthur ( Butler County) A 21-inch catfish took a gob of worms near Mt. Zion Church.

Buffalo Creek (Butler County) Steve Oliver of Butler and Sarah Oaks of Lyndora caught and released one brown and two rainbow trout Thursday on waters regulated for Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only.

Bull Creek (Allegheny County) Two rainbow trout were caught and released in waters regulated for Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only

Deer Creek (Allegheny County) After stocking weeks ago in the Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only section near Rose Ridge Golf

Course, rainbow trout were caught on nymphs and released Sunday.

Pine Creek (Allegheny County) Near the railroad bridge at the top of the Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only stretch, Jason Bonham of Pittsburgh released a brown and two rainbow trout caught on a Trout Worm.

Peters Creek (Allegheny

County) The stocking truck carrying browns, rainbows and golden rainbows is to meet volunteers at Snowden, Piney Creek and Peters Creek roads at noon Saturday.

Montour Run ( Allegheny County) The Fish & Boat Commission welcomes help stocking brown, rainbow and golden rainbows at Montour Run and Hookstown Grade roads at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Canonsburg Lake (Washington County) Managed for Stocked Trout Waters Open for YearRound Fishing, rainbows and golden rainbows were delivered March 5.

Mingo Creek (Washington County). The stocking truck was scheduled to deliver browns, rainbows and golden rainbows at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sugar Run Road Bridge at the upstream boundary of Mingo Creek Park.

Loyalhanna Creek (Westmorela­nd County) At 11:45 a.m. Saturday, stocking trucks were to deliver brown and rainbow trout from Zimmerman Run to the Route 711 Bridge.

Browns, rainbows and golden rainbows were to be stocked from Two Mile Road to Monastery Run.
