“The First Omen”: This prequel to 1976’s “The Omen” follows an American woman living in Rome who uncovers a conspiracy to fast-track the Antichrist’s birth. Directed by Arkasha Stevenson and starring Nell Tiger Free, Bill Nighy and Ralph Ineson.

“Monkey Man”: Dev Patel co-wrote and directed this thriller about a young man hunting down a group of corrupt leaders responsibl­e for his mother’s death.

“Wicked Little Letters”: Olivia Colman stars in this British black comedy/mystery about a group of women investigat­ing the course of obscene letters.

“Inside Man”: A death row inmate (Stanley Tucci) lends his sinister expertise to help solve a missing persons case across the pond in this four-part thriller. With David Tennant.

“Easter Bloody Easter”: Horror springs eternal in this flick that finds a murderous jackalope rampaging through a small town.

“AIMEE: The Visitor”: Sci-fi thriller in which a hacker unlocks an AI program that takes the form of an alluring woman and quickly learns it’s not to be trifled with.

“Lancaster”: This documentar­y film explores the role of the titular British bomber in World War II.

“Baby Assassins 2”: After being suspended from their agency due to a rules violation, two teen girls who also happen to be highly skilled assassins find themselves targeted by ambitious rivals in this Japanese action comedy.

“Snack Shack”: Teen comedy concerning two friends who take over the municipal pool’s concession stand, making for a memorable 1991 summer.

NEW MUSIC FRIDAY

The Black Keys, “Ohio Players”: Album 12 from the Akron, Ohio, blues-rock duo of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney nods to the legendary Dayton funk band and features collaborat­ions with Dan “The Automator” Nakamura, Beck, Noel Gallagher and Greg Kurstin. Carney said in a statement, “We had this epiphany: ‘We can call our friends to help us make music.’”

Vampire Weekend, “Only God Was Above Us”: The fifth album and first in five years from the indie-rock darlings is said to be “inspired and haunted by 20th Century New York City.”

Old 97’s, “American Primitive”: Thirty years after the debut “Hitchhike to Rhome,” the Dallas alt-country band led by Rhett Miller issues this 13th studio album produced by Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket, The Decemberis­ts, Neko Case) and featuring guest spots from Peter Buck (R.E.M.) and Scott McCaughey (The Young Fresh Fellows, The Minus 5). Miller said in a statement, “I think a lot of that longevity has to do with the fact that we’re really the same band we were back then.”

Marcus King, “Mood Swings”: Rick Rubin produced the new album from the Southern blues-rocker who will be supporting Chris Stapleton on tour this summer.

X Ambassador­s, “Townie”: Fourth album from the Ithaca, N.Y., alt-rock band behind the hits “Unsteady” and “Renegades.

WHAT’S ON TV

“Ripley” (Thursday, Netflix): Andrew Scott and Dakota Fanning star in this limited series about a early ’60s NYC grifter hired by a wealthy man to bring his son home from Italy.

“Star Trek: Discovery” (Thursday, Paramount+): Season 5 of the series that begins roughly a decade before Captain Kirk’s fiveyear mission.

“Next Level Chef” (Fox, 8 p.m. Thursday): If you want to win this competitio­n, you’ve got to level up. Top-notch chefs Gordon Ramsay, Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais offer their expert knowledge and mentorship to chefs hoping to conquer this one-of-a-kind, cutthroat cooking gauntlet.

“Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC, 9 p.m. Thursday): The doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial are mixing business with pleasure and finding that being a doctor is a bit different from playing doctor. Jessica Capshaw guest stars as Dr. Arizona Robbins, who’s giving residents an earful about their abilities.

“Elsbeth” (CBS, 9 p.m. Thursday): When a much-loathed co-op board president (Linda Lavin) falls to her death, Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) and Kaya (Carra Patterson) are called in to investigat­e. At the scene, they meet Joann (Jane Krakowski), who seems to be hiding some big secrets.

“The Antisocial Network: Memes to Mayhem” (Friday, Netflix): From the rise of QAnon to the Jan. 6 riots, this film explains how a group of bored teenagers built an online community out of their shared loneliness.

“Scoop” (Friday, Netflix): Inside account of how the BBC landed the infamous interview with Prince Andrew.

“Blue Bloods” (CBS, 10 p.m. Friday): Another new episode of this seminal police procedural means another step closer to the end. As the closing chapter for the Reagan family continues, patriarch Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) serves New York City as the police commission­er.

“Mary & George” (Starz, 9 p.m. Friday): In this series premiere, Mary Villers (Julianne Moore), the Countess of Buckingham, is on the verge of bankruptcy. To turn her family’s fortunes around, she convinces her son, George (Nicholas Galitzine), to seduce King James I (Tony Curran).

“Sugar” (Saturday, Apple TV+): Season 1 of the series starring Colin Farrell as an enigmatic private detective investigat­ing the disappeara­nce of a Hollywood producer’s beloved granddaugh­ter.

2024 CMT Music Awards (CBS/Paramount+, 8 p.m. Sunday): Kelsea Ballerini returns as host with performanc­es by Jelly Roll, Bailey Zimmerman, Sam Hunt, Lainey Wilson, Keith Urban and more.
