INDIANAPOLIS over Denver by 3

Playbook Football (Midweek Alert) - - 2-minute Handicap -

If this Week 14 NFL opener is looking for a sponsor, can we suggest the folks at Bud Light so they can file this one in the ‘Pit of Misery’. We realize that NBC thought they would be getting Andrew Luck and Colts in the thick of the AFC South race taking on a Denver squad that figured to be near the top in total defense. Instead, they get a pair of teams that are a combined 7-19 with a cast of QBs that would have a hard time completing a pass on ABC’s ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ – a secluded island where you find desperate, drunken, heartbroken girls roaming around in bikinis. We wouldn’t blame you for switching networks but we’re going to take advantage of a line error that has the Broncos arriving as road chalk. Yes, Denver is 5-0 ATS on Thursdays against non-division opposition but they are a head-scratching 0-8 SUATS in their last eight roadies, including 0-6 SUATS under 1st-year head coach Vance Joseph. They are also a worn out 0-9-1 ATS in the 4th quarter of the season (Games 13-16) when coming off a SU underdog win. The Colts have had success on this day of the week (13-2 SU and 12-2-1 ATS) and, more importantly, in this series where they are 8-2 SU and 9-1 ATS in the past 10 meetings, including 5-0 SUATS at home. Needless to say, we have no choice but to close this out with one final thought: Dilly, Dilly! Saturday, December 16
