CAROLINA over Green Bay by 1
Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers has been officially activated but has yet to be medically cleared to play by the team, so we can’t make an official call on this game until the status of the veteran gunslinger is clearly in focus. We know all about the two metal plates and 13 screws in his surgically-repaired collarbone, but it’s obvious that this guy has the heart of a lion and will demand to be on the field in Charlotte to take on the Panthers with the Packers’ playoff hopes still very much alive. The Pack is 6-1 SUATS in this series when coming off consecutive wins and has covered four straight times when coming off an AFC game, but we are a bit concerned after looking at their 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS record in the second of back-to-back road games. Meanwhile, Carolina is 9-2 ATS at home against NFC foes when coming off an NFC North game, but the
reports the Panthers have been outstatted in five of their last six games, including 0-3 ITS in the last three. We know that Cam Newton will be looking to show off with Rodgers across the field, but that ‘leaking oil’ favorite status is enough to keep us at arm’s length for the time being.
