As the Bron­cos’ de­fense fi­nally re­turned to their pre­vi­ous form, at least for one week, Jets QB Josh McCown saw the best sea­son of his jour­ney­man ca­reer come to an end with a bro­ken hand in the 23-0 shutout in Den­ver. Todd Bowles, whose ane­mic at­tack man­aged just 100 yards of of­fense, will turn to Bryce Petty, while Chris­tian Hack­en­berg may see some ac­tion down the stretch in a sea­son that has quickly slipped away. New York is 0-4 ATS on the road fol­low­ing an away game and 1-4 ATS be­fore Last Home Games, while the fast planes are 2-5 SU and 2-4-1 ATS away ver­sus NFC South op­po­nents. Bowles does own a 5-1 SUATS mark when com­ing off a loss of 7 or more points dur­ing the sec­ond half of the sea­son, but it’s hard to hold out hope when his squad was ab­so­lutely shut down by a team that had lost 8 games in a row.
