BEST BET TAMPA BAY over Atlanta by 6
Wow. The Falcons haven’t been the same since blowing that big lead in the second half of last year’s Super Bowl giveaway to New England. And when it comes to playing their 7th away game of the season with an away game on deck, well… let’s just say the results have been less than lucky: 2-10 SU and 2-9-1 ATS, to be exact. Atlanta’s money-making 7-1 ATS mark on the road in 2017 has gone up in a 2-4 ATS puff of smoke this season, and it seems not even a win over the hated NFC South rival Saints can provide any help here: the Falcons are an erratic 9-16 SU and 7-18 ATS following a SUATS win over New Orleans. They’re also 1-3 ATS as road chalk this year, which doesn’t bode well for the Birds when stacked up against Tampa’s 10-5 SU and 11-4 ATS record at home in division games following a SU favorite loss, including 9-2-1 ATS versus a foe off a win. No, the 4-win Buccaneers don’t scare anyone but they haven’t packed it in yet, dropping their last two contests by margins of just 3 and 6 points. They would also love to derail the Falcons’ playoff hopes by getting even for a 14-point loss at Mercedes-Benz Stadium just three weeks ago. Don’t know if Jameis Winston or Ryan Fitzpatrick will be taking snaps for Tampa Bay tonight but it’s basically irrelevant according to THE CLINCHER: Tampa Bay is 6-1 SU and 7-0 ATS as a Monday night home dog since 1980.
