NEW ORLEANS over Atlanta by 1
The Falcons are still in the playoff race following Monday’s scratch-and-claw win over the Buccaneers. They have also been successful following Monday Nighters as well, owning a 9-4 SU and 11-2 ATS record playing the short week. In addition, the Dirty Birds are an impressive 13-2 ATS as underdogs during the 4th quarter of the season (Games 13-16) against foes coming off a home win. And while the stats for Falcons’ QB Matt Ryan are way down this year, Matty Ice is 15-6 ATS away during the month of December. Meanwhile, Drew Brees has always been the catalyst for this Saints team, but the emergence of a two-pronged rushing attack from Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara keeps New Orleans on the winning track. It’s still a three-way race for the NFC South title with Atlanta one game behind the Saints and Panthers, so this game will be played with post-season intensity. However, New Orleans is just 5-23 ATS when favored as a host in this series. It has been a long 4 years since the Saints have made it to the playoffs. We’re flying with the Falcons today.
