PHILADELPHIA over Oakland by 10
The Eagles nearly pulled off the ‘rally around the new quarterback angle’ in their win-no-cover effort at MetLife Stadium last week. That would be Nick Foles stepping in for Carson Wentz. It’s the second game that becomes the true test of backup QBs in this role, though, and with that Foles will put his 7-13 ATS career mark in games following a win to test this evening. Coming to his aid tonight, though, is Philadelphia head coach Doug Pederson’s 4-0 SUATS record during the second-half of the season when the Eagles are coming off a division game. In addition, the Birds are 7-1 ATS as favorites versus AFC foes, as well as 11-2 ATS at home following an away game versus foes off a home game. The other side of the coin finds the Raiders 3-9 SU and 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 Monday night games. Worse, Oakland is 0-11 ATS in 2nd to last road games of the season when facing non-division foes, as well as 4-19 SU away versus the NFC since 2006, including 1-5 ATS following consecutive losses. The bottom line is it’s easier to rally with Philadelphia’s 24-8 ATS mark on Monday nights when coming off a win, including 10-1 ATS the last 11 performances.
