NEBRASKA over Troy by 6
More college cruelty in the Nebraska hills last Saturday night, spoiling NU’s 362nd consecutive home sellout. The Cornhuskers were just two plays away from bringing down a relentless bunch of Buffaloes in new HC Scott Frost’s Memorial Stadium debut last Saturday – when a bonehead roughing penalty late in the game on 3rd-and-24 for Colorado cost the Huskers a rare season-opening home loss, 33-28. Big Red gets to stay in Lincoln to lick its wounds, then hopefully recuperate against a Troy team that bounced back off a brutal 56-20 beatdown by Boise State in its season opener with a 59-7 win over Florida A&M’s marching band. Nebraska has gone 8-0 SU and 6-1-1 ATS versus Sun Belt foes, but the Huskers are also
home off a home loss since 2007, and we can’t back them until Frost has control of his team. In fact, this is the type of foe the Silk does not want to entertain following last week’s tough-luck loss to Colorado, especially with Troy owning a badge of honor in its last seven outings as a double-digit dog. Still, we see this one finishing very close to the line, so we’ll be content to observe for now.
