AUBURN over Lsu by 13
In this matchup of striped cats at Jordan-Hare, revenge will be key as Auburn coughed up a 20-point lead in Baton Rouge to LSU as 7-point favorites last season to lose, 27-23. This has been a series dominated recently by the home team, which has covered four straight times, but Aubbie will need to overcome an ugly 0-7 ATS mark in Game Three of the season to gain their measure of payback today. Auburn is 7-1-1 versus the number with conference revenge, and QB Jarrett Stidham has the edge in experience over Joe Burrow. However, Stidham will need to erase any memories of last year’s poor performance against the Tigers, when he went just 9 of 26 for 165 yards and was sacked three times. FYI: Auburn has had 9 straight 1,000-yard RBs (an SEC record) and this year’s leading contenders to carry the torch are Kam Martin and freshman JaTarvious Whitlow, a true battering ram. On the flip side, LSU has their own long list of outstanding feature backs and haven’t missed a beat with senior Nick Brossette, who ran for 125 yards against the Canes and 137 last week against SE Louisiana. The Bayou Bengals has yet to turn the ball over in their 2-0 start this season, but we still need to figure out if they’re as good as they looked on national TV in their opener against Miami. We don’t think so.
