MISSISSIPPI ST over UL Lafayette by 35
Dan who? The loss of head coach Dan Mullen to Florida over the offseason had many Mississippi State fans worried about 2018, especially when they hired a guy named Joe Moorhead that had never set foot in the SEC in any coaching capacity. Well, those same fans are grinning from ear to ear after MSU’s 2-0 start. We weren’t among them as we challenged the road favorite Bulldogs last week with Grandpa Snyder and Kansas State. Safe to say we won’t make that same mistake this week, not after MSU played like a pro team against the Wildcats, ripping them 31-10. You might see a lot of SO RB Kylin Hill, who rushed for 211 yards to compliment QB Nick Fitzgerald’s 159 rushing yards in the win at Manhattan, and the MSU ground game shows up tonight averaging 302 yards per game and almost 8 yards per carry. UL Lafayette (or Louisiana if you’re an alum) got off to a good start in new head coach Billy Napier’s debut two weeks ago, beating up on Grambling, 49-17. However, the Cajuns show up in Starkville with a
record in the second of consecutive non-conference games, and a poor 3-7 ATS mark as dogs of 23 or more points. MSU’s sterling effort versus opponents playing with rest tells us all we need to know. Lay it if you play it.
