Ohio St over TCU by 3
Urban who? Under interim head coach Ryan Day, the Buckeyes have overwhelmed two foes to start the season, scoring 77 points over Oregon State and 52 over Rutgers. Day can give thanks to QB Dwayne Haskins’ 546 passing yards on 42-of-53 aerials and the ground game’s 600 rushing yards. But while the Buckeyes generally thrive in this situation, they’re playing their third straight game without Meyer – and that may be pushing the envelope a bit too far, especially on the road at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This is the sort of spot where upsets occur: good teams with a great coach in undedog roles with plenty of support from the well-oiled machine. Right on cue, our database informs us that TCU head coach Gary Patterson stands 5-1 SU in his career versus the Big Ten (lost by 1 point to Michigan State), plus he’s a dependable as a dog of 7 or more points. The linesmakers are wary of Ohio State, though, or they wouldn’t have made them 10-point road chalk over a quality Texas-based team playing less than an hour from home. Even so, should the line stay where it is or rise, the Froggies’ outstanding
record as non-conference dogs of 10 or more points puts us in TCU’s corner in tonight’s marquee matchup on ABC. Did you know a real horned frog can squirt blood from its eyes? You do now! Grab the points.
