Three writers won 2016 Jeffrey E. Smith Editors’ Prizes. Karen Skolfield of Amherst, Massachusetts, won in poetry for a group of poems; Jason Brown of Eugene, Oregon, won in fiction for his story “Instructions to the Living From the Condition of the Dead;” and Tyler Keevil of Abergavenny, Wales, won in creative nonfiction for his essay “Swarf.” They each received $5,000 and publication in Missouri Review. The annual awards are given for a group of poems, a story, and an essay. The next deadline is October 1.
