MARY C. MOHR AWARDS

Mark Wa­ge­naar of Val­paraiso, In­di­ana, won the 2017 po­etry award for his poem “Ante Up.” Shubha Venu­gopal of Thou­sand Oaks, Cal­i­for­nia, won the fic­tion award for her story “Play­ing at Par­ent.” Adriana Páramo of New York City won the non­fic­tion award for her es­say “Love on the Idi­tarod Trail.” They each re­ceived $2,000 and pub­li­ca­tion in South­ern In­di­ana Re­view. Mag­gie Smith judged in po­etry, Su­san Per­abo judged in fic­tion, and Regi­nald Dwayne Betts

judged in non­fic­tion. The an­nual awards are given for a poem, a short story, and an es­say. (SEE DEAD­LINES.)
