LE­VIS READ­ING PRIZE

Kaveh Ak­bar of West Lafayette, In­di­ana, won the 21st an­nual Le­vis Read­ing Prize for his po­etry col­lec­tion, Call­ing a Wolf a Wolf (Alice James Books, 2017). He re­ceived $5,000 and an all-ex­pens­e­s­paid trip to give a read­ing at Vir­ginia Com­mon­wealth Univer­sity in Rich­mond. The an­nual award is given to honor a first or sec­ond book of po­etry pub­lished dur­ing the pre­vi­ous year.
