The 2019 DIS­QUIET In­ter­na­tional Literary Pro­gram, spon­sored by Dzanc Books and Cen­tro Na­cional de Cul­tura, will be held from June 23 to July 5 in Lis­bon, Por­tu­gal. The con­fer­ence fea­tures work­shops in po­etry, fic­tion, and cre­ative non­fic­tion, as well as lec­tures, craft talks, and literary walks. The fac­ulty in­cludes po­ets Erica Daw­son and Terri Witek. Tu­ition is $1,950; trans­porta­tion, lodg­ing, and meals are not in­cluded. Lodg­ing is avail­able for dis­counted rates at area ho­tels and hos­tels. The an­nual Dzanc Books literary con­test, which in­cludes full tu­ition, air­fare, and lodg­ing, will be given to one poet, fic­tion writer, or cre­ative non­fic­tion writer; sub­mit up to six po­ems to­tal­ing no more than 10 pages or up to 25 pages of prose with a $15 en­try fee by Jan­uary 10. Four full schol­ar­ships, in­clud­ing tu­ition, lodg­ing, and air­fare, are also avail­able for North Amer­i­can writ­ers of Luso des­cent; sub­mit up to 10 pages of po­etry or prose and a personal state­ment by Jan­uary 10. There is no ap­pli­ca­tion fee. For gen­eral con­fer­ence ap­pli­ca­tions, sub­mit three po­ems or up to 10 pages of prose and a re­fund­able $150 tu­ition de­posit. Fi­nan­cial aid is avail­able.
