Retreats—from Atlanta to Las Vegas.

The 2019 Atlanta Writers Conference, sponsored by the Atlanta Writers Club, will be held from May 3 to May 4 at the Westin Atlanta Airport Hotel. The conference features publishing panels, pitch sessions, manuscript and query letter critiques, and a workshop on author branding for fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and graphic novelists. Participat­ing publishing profession­als include editors Rebecca Brewer (Ace/Berkley Publishing Group), Stephanie Guerdan (HarperColl­ins), Jennifer Gunnels (Tor Books), Emily Hartley (Ballantine Books), Chelcee Johns (37 INK), Danielle Marshall (Lake Union Publishing /Amazon Publishing), Grace MenaryWine­field (Sourcebook­s), and Kristine Swartz (Berkley Publishing Group); and agents Caroline George (Cyle Young Literary Elite), Natalie Grazian (Martin Literary & Media Management), Julie Gwinn (Seymour Agency), Sharon Pelletier (Dystel, Goderich & Bourret), Michelle Richter (Fuse Literary), Elizabeth Winick Rubinstein (McIntosh & Otis), Jennifer March Soloway (Andrea Brown Literary Agency), and Léonicka Valcius (Transatlan­tic Agency). The cost of a single session ranges from $50 to $170, depending on the activity; the cost of the full conference, which includes two manuscript critiques, one query letter critique, two pitch sessions, and the author branding workshop, is $620. For nonmembers of the Atlanta Writers Club, an additional $50 membership fee is also required. Lodging is available at the conference hotel for a discounted rate of $119 per night until April 11. The deadline to register for a manuscript critique is April 3. Space is limited; registrati­on is first come, first served. The general registrati­on deadline is May 2.
