A prize of $10,000 and publicatio­n by Hub City Press will be given annually for a short story collection. U.S. writers who have not published a book in any genre and who have lived in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississipp­i, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or West Virginia for two consecutiv­e years are eligible. Lauren Groff will judge. Using the online submission system, submit a manuscript of 140 to 220 pages (no story should exceed 15,000 words) with a $25 entry fee by April 16. NEW SOUTHERN VOICES POETRY PRIZE

A prize of $1,000 and publicatio­n by Hub City Press is given biennially for a poetry collection. U.S. poets who have published no more than one full-length poetry collection and who have lived in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississipp­i, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or West Virginia for two consecutiv­e years are eligible.
