ARTIST TRUST Arts Innovator Awards, Fellowship Awards, LaSalle Storyteller Award, and Grants for Artist Projects
Description: Awards and grants are given annually to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers who reside in Washington State.
Benefits: $25,000 for the Arts Innovator Awards, $10,000 for the Fellowship Awards, $10,000 for the LaSalle Storyteller Award, and $1,500 for the Grants for Artist Projects.

Olive B. O’Connor Fellowships

Benefits: Approximately $43,000, health benefits, and travel expenses.

Creative Capital Awards
Description: Awards are given annually to artists who are making bold, innovative work.
Benefits: $50,000 in funding in addition to at least $50,000 in career development, which includes legal and financial counsel, community-building, networking, mentorship, and promotional help.

NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS Creative Writing Fellowships and Translation Fellowships
Description: Approximately 35 Creative Writing Fellowships are awarded annually to poets and prose writers; the fellowships alternate between poetry and prose. Approximately 20 to 25 Translation Fellowships are given annually to translators. Writers and translators with a strong track record of publication are eligible.
Benefits: $25,000 for the Creative Writing Fellowships, $25,000 or $12,500 for the Translation Fellowships.

Steinbeck Fellowships
Description: Three to six fellowships are given annually to fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and dramatists.

STADLER CENTER AT BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY
Stadler Fellowships
Description: A fellowship in literary editing and a fellowship in literary arts administration are given annually to poets who have recently completed an MFA and have not published a book.
Duration and Location: One academic year at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
Benefits: Approximately $33,000 and health benefits.
Responsibilities: Twenty hours of editorial or arts administrative work each week, in addition to serving as core faculty for the Bucknell Seminar for Undergraduate Poets.

Individual Awards

UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN–MADISON Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing Fellowships
Description: Six to eight fellowships are given annually to poets and fiction writers who have an MFA or a PhD in creative writing and have not published more than one book of poetry or prose.
Duration and Location: One academic year at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Benefits: Approximately $39,000 and health benefits.
Responsibilities: Teaching one undergraduate creative writing course each semester and helping judge the university’s creative writing contests.
