Willamette Writers Conference
The 2021 Willamette Writers Conference will be held online from July 29 to August 1. The conference features workshops, panels, pitch sessions, critiques, and Zoom games for poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators. The faculty includes poet Kate Gray, fiction writers Heidi W. Durrow, Hallie Ephron, Fonda Lee, Daniel José Older, and J. T. Townley, and fiction and nonfiction writer Pam Houston. Participating publishing professionals include publicist Rachel Bell (Overcup Press), editor David Pomerico (HarperCollins), and agents Angelina Chen (Energy Entertainment), Jennifer Chen Tran (Bradford Literary Agency), Lori Galvin (Aevitas), Andrea Hurst (Andrea Hurst and Associates), Fiona Kenshole (Transatlantic Agency), Kat Kerr (Donald Maass Literary Agency), Iwalani Kim (Sanford J. Greenburger Associates), Natalie Kimber (Rights Factory), Laura Mazer (Wendy Sherman Associates),
Jim McCarthy (Dystel, Goderich, and Bourret), Brent Paxton (Kreativ Artists), and Paige Terlip (Andrea Brown Literary Agency). The cost of the conference is $374 ($299 for Willamette Writers members; membership is $57 and can be purchased with registration). The cost of an optional six-hour master class is $274 ($199 for Willamette Writers members). Agent pitch sessions cost $25. Manuscript critiques cost $75. The registration deadline is July 22.
