Step Up Committee to become official
Step Up, the organization whose mission is to “empower youth,” will be considered for an official committee appointment during today’s Tulare County Board of Supervisors meeting.
County staff is recommending the board consider making the Step Up Committee a formal advisory committee to the board to “ensure Step Up’s continued positive impact in the future.”
If approved, staff said the motion would allow the board to appoint one of its members to sit on the committee and appoint a member of the board’s staff to act as the program administrator.
The committee will consist of 11 members, including one member each from the Board of Supervisors, the educational field, an after-school program, city law enforcement, Sheriff’s Department, county probation department, district attorney’s office, community-based organization, faith-based organization, community advocate, and the business community.

tpresent a proclamation to Nestle Waters for donations of bottled drinking water.
tconsider awarding the contract for the construction of Deer Creek Bridge for $2,809,144 to MCM Construction, Inc., of North Highlands.
treceive a presentation from Matt Cate on the California State Association of Counties.
treview a presentation by the county administrative office on an update on the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.
thear a presentation by Tulare County Association of Governments (TCAG) on the county Regional Transportation Impact Fee.
The board will meet at 9 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors chambers in Visalia.
