FSU Bulldogs are hoping to rebound against Utah State

- recorder@portervillerecorder.com

The Fresno State Bulldogs will take on Utah State for their 2015 Homecoming game today at 7:30 p.m. They lost 21-7 last week at San Diego State.

Though he played last weekend against the Aztecs and threw a touchdown pass, quarterback Zack Greenlee, 20, is still facing issues following his arrest in September after being in possession of alcohol at a party. The Fresno County District Attorney’s office filed charges against Greenlee, along with two other athletes, earlier this week, and if convicted he could face up to a year in jail.

But in the meantime, he’ll try to help the Bulldogs continue their six-game winning streak over the Aggies, which dates back to 2007, and its eight-game Homecoming winning streak. Fresno State is 13-2-1 all time at home against Utah State.

The Aggies are 2-2 this season, and both losses were on the road to Pac-12 programs. They allow just 20.5 points per game and 323.2 yards of offense per game.

The Bulldogs will look to keep the defensive pressure on their guests. Fresno State has recorded nine sacks in the past two games, and Ejiro Ederaine has four sacks this season. Jeff Camilli looks to continue his run of three straight games with 10 or more tackles.

Look for redshirt freshman Keesean Johnson to have a good night. The wide receiver has caught a touchdown pass in the last two games. He also leads the team with 19 catches and 189 yards. His presence has been needed considering Fresno State has seen 11 missed games due to injury from three wide receivers: Aaron Peck, Delvon Hardaway and Keyan Williams.

Third down will be a point of focus against Utah State, as Fresno State didn’t convert a single third down against San Diego State. Fresno State will need to get off to a fast start. The Bulldogs did not score in the opening period in three of their five games this season.
