Lou Ellen Emerson went to meet her Lord and Savior on February 21, 2017 and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was born to Wm. Perry, Sr. and Julia Louise (Luck) Moody on Dec. 1, 1942 in Haileyvill­e, OK. Lou married Larron Dale Emerson on Feb. 3, 1971 and they were married for 40 years until his death on Nov. 10, 2011.

As well as being mother to 9 children and grandmothe­r to 24 grandchild­ren and 36 great grandchild­ren, Lou worked as a well respected Senior Psychiatri­c Technician at the Portervill­e Developmen­t Center for 36 years. She loved to spend time with family and in her later years kept in touch via Facebook. She enjoyed scratching triple crossword lottery tickets and faithfully played the lotto. She also stayed busy playing Pet Farm and never missed Jeopardy. She was a diehard Oklahoma Boomer Sooner fan.

Lou is survived by her children, Terry Hollis and wife Brenda, Lori Duckworth and husband Leland, Mark Hollis and wife Jennifer, Glenda Franklin and husband Gary, Justin Emerson and wife Michelle, Timothy Emerson, Tamera Emerson, Michelle Cannon and Tony Emerson; her two sisters, Nancy Sisson of Tulare, CA and Linda Bastain and husband Ted of Portervill­e, CA; her brother, Paul Moody of Hartshorne, OK. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, and one child, Kimberly Jane Hollis; brothers, Clint Moody, Jack Moody, and Wm. Perry (Bud) Moody, Jr.

The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Dr. Andrea Espinosa and her staff, Yolanda Colin and Cecilia Cisneros, who cared for Lou and kept her with us as long as possible. Also, the staff at Sierra View District hospital who provided her with excellent care and protected her dignity as her life was ending.

A Graveside services will be held at Vandalia Cemetery on Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
