Five arrested by PPD after stolen car spotted in driveway
Five people were arrested by the Porterville Police Department’s Narcotic Investigations Unit on Friday.
Detectives from the department’s Narcotic Investigations Unit were conducting an investigation in the area of Leggett Street and Olive Avenue. A reported stolen vehicle was observed parked in the driveway of a residence located near the intersection. Detectives responded to the home and talked with five people there.
Detectives learned that Angel Valenzuela, 29, of Porterville, was determined to be the driver of the stolen vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded a rifle that had been unlawfully possessed by Valenzuela. Valenzuela was booked on charges of auto theft, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of stolen property.
Further evidence located in the vehicle indicated Alissa Caraveo, 24, of Porterville, had also been in possession of the stolen vehicle. Caraveo was booked on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle. Stolen property from several victims was also located in the stolen vehicle.
Tiffany Chavez, 29, of Porterville, was at the residence and she had an outstanding arrest warrant charging her with a violation of parole.
Ryan Keenom, 27, of Porterville, had three local misdemeanor warrants and was on CDCR parole. His parole was revoked by a parole agent.
Ray Rodriguez, 40, of Porterville, had one local misdemeanor arrest warrant.
Chavez and Keenom were booked on their outstanding arrest warrants and Rodriguez was released on a promise to appear in court.
