Delores Heggie

Delores "Pebbles" Heggie, age 54, who was a lifetime resident of Porterville and the Tule River Tribe passed away peacefully at her home November 2, 2017. Delores was born January 22, 1963 in Porterville and attended Porterville schools, graduating with the Class of 1981 from Porterville High School. She drove trucks for more than 20 years, hauling livestock all over the U.S. and Canada before retiring to become a "stay at home Mom" and homemaker after the birth of her son Dakota. Delores married Darcey Heggie in Fresno, CA on July 2, 2004 and together they made their home on the Tule River Indian Reservation perched on a hillside that overlooks a beautiful backdrop of hills and trees. Delores cherished her family and home and spent countless hours tending to her beautiful yard. She enjoyed camping in the nearby mountains, sightseeing with Darcey, going out shopping and trips to Pismo Beach. Delores had a happy and bubbly personality that made people just want to be around her. She was a member of the Tule Reservation Church on the Hill and a faithful and outspoken servant of the Lord. Delores will be dearly missed and leaves behind a devoted family who are looking forward to being together again at their "Heavenly Homecoming." She was preceded in death by her mother Juanita Christman, sister Ethel Bennett and her brothers Gerald and George Silvas. Surviving family includes her husband Darcey and son Dakota along with stepsons Ryan, Ty and Ret Heggie; 4 brothers: Frank Silvas, Victor Silvas, Marvin Silvas and Wayne Silvas; 5 sisters: Georgia Balthazor, Viola Silvas, Katherine Calderon, Gladys Pile and Lorita Silvas. Visitation will begin at 8:00am Monday, November 8th at Porterville Funeral Home followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 10:00am and then proceed to the upper cemetery at the Tule River Indian Reservation for interment.
