A great time to be alive

Editor,

Jigsaw puzzles! Does anyone like them? I do! They do require memory and concentration. They are challenging, interesting, intriguing and addicting! Really — “Life” — “Our World” — the “Universe” and our concepts of God and creation are like a jigsaw puzzle. At age 92 I am finding many pieces to this giant puzzle.

In the Sept. 16-17 edition of the Recorder, an article titled, “Saturn Space Craft Makes Fiery Final Drive.” NASA’S spacecraft “Cassini” dove through Saturn’s atmosphere becoming one with the giant gas planet. Imagine the skill, precision, planning and vision of the engineers of NASA to create a spacecraft, launched into our atmosphere, taking 20 years to reach its destination! Wow! Its purpose: to explore, send back to earth data, information and photos along the way. Cassini showed the planet, Saturn, its rings and moons up close in all their splendor. Ocean worlds were unveiled on the moons Enceladus and Titan, which could possibly harbor life.

The magnitude of such a mission — the precision of engineering this spacecraft, traveling 20 light years away — functioning perfectly through all conditions to reach its destination — Awesome! One more piece I learned: our planet Earth is just one of those minute specks in the Milky Way. Wow!

Then we look at the Bible with its many future prophecies. Ninety-six percent have been fulfilled and the other four percent are being fulfilled right now. Floods, storms, earthquakes, fires, wars, increase in knowledge and sin, etc.

A great time to be alive! When all pieces are finally in place and we see the whole picture, the Glory of God and His purpose will be revealed for all to see.
