Trinity Lutheran Church to hold annual holiday bazaar Nov. 18

-

Trinity Lutheran Church will hold its 34th annual holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18.

The bazaar will include a large white elephant sale, handmade craft items, collectibles art and photos, a soup and pie meal, baked goods, auction items and opportunity drawings.

The drawings will include an 80 x 92 quilt made by Rose Johnson and Linda Matthews. Brian Nelson made the quilt stand.

In addition, there will be a large gift basket by Karin Wiseman, a famous Rose Malling Plate painted by Ardella Lindberg and donated by Karen Cardell, and a sketch by local artist Steven Ball and donated by Judy Trimble.

Tickets for the drawing are $1 and may be purchased by the event.

The bazaar will again feature Carol Bentz’s famous cinnamon rolls and cranberry relish from Carolyn Sharp.

All proceeds from the bazaar will be given to the Porterville Area Coordinating Council and Helping Hands of Porterville. Last year, the church gave $6,996 to the two groups. Over the past 33 years, the bazaar has raised more than $133,000 for community organizations.

“The success of our bazaar is due in most part to the community, which comes out to support us,” said Helen Zenz, the coordinator of the bazaar. “We think of this as a community effort to help those who need a little extra assistance now and then.”
