Luisa Gonzalez Alvarado

Luisa Gonzalez Alvarado, 82, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 13, 2018. Luisa was born in Congregacion Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on October 11, 1935 to Teodolo and Maria Santos Gonzalez. She came to the United States in 1955 with her family where she began working as a farm laborer/homemaker.

Luisa, also known as "Welita", enjoyed taking care of her gradnchildren, cooking, gardening, getting together with her family, dancing and listening to music, and trips to Eagle Mt. Casino. Some of her family favorite dishes were nopales, menudo and sweet tortillas.

She is survived by her children Angie (Andres) Garcia, Raul (Virginia) Alvarado, Tomasita (Antonio) Gomez, Richard (Rosemary) Alvarado, Domingo (Janie) Alvarado, Dora (Philip) Duran and Tony (Jessica) Alvarado.

She has 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

She will reunite with her beloved husband Simon V. Alvarado and children Orelia, Ruben and Emilio Alvarado. Along with granddaughters Soledad Garcia and Alviasol Belen Alvarado and great granddaughter Francisca "Panchita" Bermudez. Visitation will be held at Myers Chapel on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, immediately followed by the Rosary. Mass will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. Anne's Church, 378 N. F Street at 11:00 AM.
