Wall of Fame ceremony is March 23
They have changed the lives of many and worked to make the city a better place. We have the privilege of honoring a few individuals each year that fit that theme and this year is certainly no exception. Each spring, Council members nominate individuals for the honor of being placed on the City’s “Wall of Fame” located at the Porterville Heritage Community Center. These individuals are celebrated for their service and dedication to the heritage of the community. Join us on March 23 as we recognize our 2018 honorees Richard B. Hatfield, Todd “Hoss” Mcnutt and Teddy Wong. The ceremony starts at 3:30 p.m. at the Heritage Center on Orange Avenue. Kids Fest
Skip the lines on March 31 and get your wristbands ahead of time for the Kids Fest presented by Giovanni’s Pizzeria. They can be purchased for $5 at the Heritage Center during regular business hours. The price goes up to $7 at the event. All rides open at 11 a.m. and include a 100-foot giant slide, teacup ride, jump around dune buggies and a spinning wrecking ball. Plus, there will be bounce houses, informational booths, a photo booth, petting zoo, food and more! Local performers will be taking the stage throughout the day with a special show from E and M’s Reptile Family at 12:30 p.m. If your child wants to get in the fast and furious egg hunt at 2 p.m., there is a separate $2 wristband required for that because we are giving away tons of prizes! Kids Fest is designed for children ages 2-12, but the entire family can enjoy the festivities. The egg hunt is for ages 2-9. We will be out at the Sports Complex on Scranton, don’t miss out on this action-packed event!
