Candidate forum set for April 26
The Tulare County Candidate Forum Coalition (TCCFC) will host a dual candidate forum on Thursday, April 26, for the constituents of southeast Tulare County.
The forum will start at 5:30 p.m. at Comisión Honorífica Mexicana Americana, 466 E. Putnam Ave. in Porterville.
TCCFC is comprised of more than 15 organizations. In an effort to make sure that the voters of Tulare County are heard, candidates running for Tulare County Supervisor District 5 and State Assembly District 26 have confirmed their attendance. Candidates for State Assembly District 26 include Warren Gubler, Devin Mathis, Jack Lavers and Jose Sigala. Candidates for Board of Supervisors District 5 include Virginia Gurrola and Dennis Townsend.
Candidates will be asked a variety of questions relating to immigration, the environment, agriculture, food and poverty. Vanessa Ramirez of Telemundo 51 will moderate the forum. Accommodations will be made for English and Spanish speakers.
