Wilma Dean Harris

Wilma Dean Harris of Clovisi formerly of Porterville and Terra Bellai passed away to her heavenly home on Fridayi April 27. She was 87 years old.

Wilma was born November 19I 1930 in Cullmani Alabama to farmers Russel and Cloie Whatley.

The family moved west during the depression yearsi arriving in the San Joaquin Valley in the fall of 1936. She graduated from Strathmore High School and attended Redlands University.

She met her husband of 64 yearsi Jack C. Harris and they married in Porterville in February 1954. They welcomed their son Jeffrey into the family in 1958. Wilma was a homemakeri elementary school teacher and coowner/bookkeeper for the family farm operations. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of the Nazarene Church for over 60 yearsi serving many years as Sunday School teacher and Greeter.

She was preceded in death by her parents Russel and Cloie Whatley of Fresnoi CA. Surviving family include: her husband Jack C. Harris of Clovisi CA; son Jeffrey Harris and wife Renee of Fresnoi CA; sisters Betty King of Fresno and Marie Gaylord of Clovisi CA; two Grandsons Jeremy Harris of La Vernei CA and Jordan Harris of Fresnoi CA; one Granddaughter Berkley June Harris of La Vernei CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursdayi May 10I 2018I 4:00-7:00pm at Lisle Funeral Chapeli 1605 L Streeti Fresnoi CA 93721.

A Memorial Service will be held on Fridayi May 11I 2018 at 10:30am at Faith Community Church of the Nazarenei 430 Peach Avei Clovisi CA 93612.
