A Terra Bella man is believed to have been responsible for a slew of burglaries in the area, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Pedro Coronado of Terra Bella was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of several felony counts including burglary, possession of stolen property, grand theft, forgery, and felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Coronado was booked into the Tulare County Pretrial Facility.
The arrest is the result of a nearly two-month investigation.
In March of this year, detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Agricultural Crimes Unit located a stolen tractor and a stolen mower attachment in the area of Avenue 95 and Road 248 near Terra Bella. During an investigation into who was responsible, detectives were led to a residence in the area. Ag detectives were able to identify additional stolen items at the residence and identified Coronado as a suspect.
On Wednesday, May 16, Agricultural Crimes Detectives executed a search warrant on the property. With the assistance of Tulare County Property Crimes Detectives, items, including personnel information, jewelry, and ammunition, were located and identified as being from a burglary reported months earlier. Detectives also located stolen and altered checks from several recent cases involving forgery in the Porterville area.
Detectives located a stolen Honda quad, stolen chainsaw, and other stolen items from the burglary of a storage building owned by Scalia Farms near Porterville.
Detectives also located a spray rig reported stolen by Randall Reim on the property.
A stolen Domries Brand disc cultivator was located on the property. The cultivator was painted to alter its appearance, but detectives were still able to identify the owner as Largomarsino Farms of Tulare. Detectives learned the cultivator had been stolen, although it had not yet been reported.
Additional items, suspected to be stolen, were removed from the property for safe keeping until the items could be identified and the owners could be located. The items included a gray single axle flatbed trailer, a small single axle utility trailer, and a Kubota RTV.
Recovered property was given back to the owners.
