The Tule River Historical Museum is open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays with no admission charge. The museum houses a collection of vintage lumber mill and farm equipment. Antiques from local families are on display in the 1860 Murphy House and in the main museum. Lindsay Night Market has started for the 2018 season, and will continue through the fall. The market is held each Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. in downtown Lindsay. It features food, vendors and other activities. Main Street concert series is held each Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Centennial Park across from City Hall. The concerts, which feature local talent, are free. Attendees are advised to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Morton in Porterville, holds a Clothing Closet event every Saturday from 3:00-4:30 p.m. starting from September 1, 2018 and running through till summer of 2019.

Veterans Benefit Breakfast is from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on the first Sunday of every month at the Porterville Elks Lodge on the corner of Morton and Main. Public is welcome. The National Alliance for Mental Illness of Tulare County
will sponsor the NAMI Family-tofamily Education Program specifically for families of persons diagnosed with a serious mental illness. The 12 session series of classes will start in Porterville on Wednesday September 19, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8:30p.m. and run trhough November. The course will cover information about schizophrenia, the mood disorders (bipolar and major depression), panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD); coping skills such as handling crises and relapse; basic information about medications; listening and communication techniques; problemsolving skills; recovery and rehabilitation; and self-care around worry and stress. The course is free but pre-registration is required to attend. For

Porterville Art Association presents “A Night to Remember” fundraiser event at Nuckols Ranch, 13144 Rd 216, Porterville , from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. The dinner event will feature entertainment by music and dance groups, art display, wine tasting, chocolate sampling, silent auction and a reverse drawing prize of $1,000. Tickets are $50 per person and a portion of the proceeds will go to support the development of art programs for youth in the community. For tickets, contact Porterville Art Association at 784-4323. Porterville High School Class of 1958 is planning a 60th year class reunion on Oct. 20 at River Island. The information will be sent out to classmates soon.
